Souper Soup Quest is an open-world card RPG in which you and your goblin siblings must venture into the forest to find ingredients for your Mother's famous mushroom soup! Throughout your journey, you will experience an abundance of beautiful locations, collect an assortment of goods, and encounter a colorful cast of characters, each guaranteed to make the adventure a memorable one. Seek out the mushroom goddesses of the forest and fulfill their wishes in order to obtain the mushrooms needed for supper. But be careful! The forest has not been treated kindly and may turn hostile once night falls -- get home safe!
Souper Soup Quest was developed within a team as a final pr0ject for the Games and Society course at Northeastern University. It attempts to bring the popular video game feature of open worlds to traditional card games, allowing players a "choose your own adventure" experience like no other. Additionally, Souper Soup Quest explores themes of environmentalism, confronting players with the consequences of pollution as well as encouraging them to give back to nature. Souper Soup Quest was nominated to be featured in Northeastern University's CAMD 2021 Year in Review in order to highlight to projects of the growing Game Design department.
